First introduced as a paper-based research initiative focused on community-based births attended by midwives, the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA) Stats project online data registry was developed by the MANA Division of Research, Harris-Braun Enterprises, and Bruce Ackerman in 2004. Relaunched in 2022, MSP continues the project mission to collects comprehensive data on birth and associated perinatal care outcomes. Data are intended to support research and practice with the goal of improving care for women and babies and increasing choices available to childbearing families.
